Leaders of Tomorrow: Ikigai Coaching for Youth Development is an Erasmus+ training course designed for youth workers who want to develop practical coaching skills to support young people in finding purpose, building resilience, and improving their well-being.

The project uses the Ikigai concept to explore strengths, values, and aspirations. Participants combine coaching approaches with body-based work and elements of somatic practices. Through experiential learning, they gain tools that support young people’s self-awareness, motivation, and personal development.

The project also fosters international cooperation, exchange of experiences, and the creation of a lasting network among youth workers across Europe.

The main objectives of the project include:

  • developing youth workers’ competencies in supporting young people in exploring their values and personal and professional direction;
  • equipping youth workers with practical coaching tools that foster emotional intelligence, resilience, and self-confidence;
  • integrating body-based work and somatic practices into youth work;
  • building an international network for cooperation and exchange among youth workers.

What is Ikigai?
Ikigai is a Japanese concept meaning “a reason for being” – the intersection of what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. It helps people better understand themselves, find direction, and make more conscious decisions.

In youth work, Ikigai is a practical tool that helps young people navigate uncertainty, build confidence, and make informed choices about their personal, educational, and professional development.

The project Leaders of Tomorrow is implemented thanks to funding from the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, which promotes international cooperation and the development of key competencies in youth work.
