🌿ROOTS OF PEACE

International Erasmus+ Training Course
📅 26.05 – 02.06.2025

The international training Roots of Peace was a 7-day training course designed for experienced Nonviolent Communication (NVC) practitioners who wanted to deepen their skills in conflict resolution and mediation. The program combined NVC with somatic practices supporting emotional regulation, bringing together participants from six European countries and creating an inspiring environment for learning, experience exchange, and collaboration.

During the training, participants practiced how to hold space for two people simultaneously and how to support others in finding mutual understanding, developing their mediation skills based on NVC.

The project allowed participants to explore conflicts more deeply, learn to analyze them, and practice mediation using NVC. Through workshops, role-playing exercises, reflection, and somatic practices, participants learned to respond with empathy, transform tensions into constructive dialogue, and strengthen trust and collaboration within groups.

As Marshall Rosenberg reminds us:
“All conflicts can be resolved when people feel heard and understood.”

We implemented the Roots of Peace project with the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, which promotes international cooperation and the development of key skills for youth work. As part of the project, we created a practical booklet containing exercises to develop empathy, communication, mediation, and conflict resolution skills in youth work. We also organized a webinar on conflict resolution using Nonviolent Communication to share the project’s outcomes, inspire others, and promote the values of empathy and peaceful dialogue across Europe.

INTO LOVE: Transforming Reactions into Loving Responses

International Erasmus+ Training Course
📅 27.06 – 06.07.2025

As a project partner, we had the pleasure of taking part in the international training course Into Love: Transforming Reactions into Loving Responses, held in the picturesque municipality of Drusti, Latvia. The event, organized by Miera skola – KALM International Trainings, brought together 31 youth workers from seven European countries.

Over the course of eight days, we explored the approach of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) developed by Marshall Rosenberg, based on four key components:

  • observing without evaluating,
  • recognizing and naming feelings,
  • identifying the needs behind feelings,
  • formulating requests instead of demands.

Through this practice, we learn to respond not from habitual reactions but with empathy, awareness, and openness toward others.

As Marshall Rosenberg reminds us:
“Empathy is a respectful understanding of what others are experiencing.”

The project was carried out with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, which promotes the exchange of experiences and the development of key competences in youth work. We are grateful to have been part of this initiative, learning together how to build communication based on respect, understanding, and collaboration.

As part of the project, a guide titled Emotional Regulation was also created, offering a variety of exercises and inspirations for working with young people.

EMPATHIC WAY: Journey of Nonviolent Communication

International Erasmus+ Training Course
📅 20-29.08.2024 & 14-23.11.2024

As a project partner, we had the pleasure of participating in the international training Empathic Way: Journey of Nonviolent Communication, which aimed to develop youth workers’ skills in empathetic communication and conflict resolution. The program, organized by Miera skola – KALM International Trainings, brought together participants from eight European countries, creating an inspiring space for learning, experience exchange, and collaboration.

During the training, participants explored the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), developed by Marshall Rosenberg, whose key components include:

  • observing without evaluating,
  • recognizing and naming feelings,
  • identifying the needs behind feelings,
  • making requests instead of demands.

The project focused on how NVC can be applied to prevent and resolve conflicts. Through workshops, pair and group exercises, role-playing, and reflection, participants practiced empathetic and conscious responses instead of automatic reactions, turning potential disputes into constructive dialogue.

As Marshall Rosenberg reminds us:
“The most important need of all human beings is to be understood.”

The Empathic Way project was implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, which promotes international cooperation and the development of key competences in youth work. One of the most significant outcomes of the project was a manual on using Nonviolent Communication in youth work, developed collaboratively during the project.

The project focused on strengthening interpersonal relationships, deepening empathy, and fostering meaningful connections in youth work. Through interactive workshops, group and pair exercises, role plays, and reflection, participants practiced responding with empathy, transforming tension into constructive dialogue, and building trust and understanding within their communities.

Building Bridges: Pathways to Empathy and Connection – Training Course on Cultivating Empathy

📅 18.08 – 26.08, Poland

In an era of rapid change and deep divisions, empathy is the bridge that connects us—transforming understanding into action, isolation into belonging, and challenges into opportunities for collective growth.

Building Bridges offers a transformative approach by integrating Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), and embodiment practices. This holistic experience creates a space for deep immersion in the art of connection. Through NVC, we foster empathic listening and authentic expression; IPNB delves into the brain’s role in communication and relationships; and embodiment techniques make these concepts tangible, empowering youth workers to naturally internalize and express empathy in their daily interactions.

ROOTS OF PEaCE

Roots of Peace – Training Course on Conflict Resolution with Nonviolent Communication

📅 26.05 – 02.06, Poland

Peace is one of the world’s greatest needs, yet it often feels elusive, even when we actively strive for it. “Roots of Peace” was born out of a desire to explore how we can cultivate more peace in our lives—personally, locally, and globally.

This project uniquely combines somatic practices with Nonviolent Communication (NVC), providing participants with the space to discover their own pathways to peace. By integrating these two practices, the training fosters empathy, emotional resilience, and mindful connection, helping individuals understand the profound impact peaceful approaches have on themselves and those around them.

Empatic Way

Empathic Way – Training Course on Nonviolent Communication

📅 August, November 2024, Latvia

Empathic Way is a transformative project offering two in-person training courses (TC) designed to explore the life-changing power of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), developed by Marshall Rosenberg. Through these immersive sessions, participants learn how NVC can be a powerful tool for building trust, fostering respect, cultivating empathy, and resolving conflicts in both personal and professional environments.

This program goes beyond theory—it’s an experiential journey into self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Participants engage in reflective practices to deepen their understanding of their own feelings and needs, while also learning how to create space for others with genuine presence and compassion. By integrating NVC principles into everyday interactions, this project empowers individuals to forge authentic connections and navigate conflicts with empathy, clarity, and confidence.
