We are excited to share one of the most inspiring outcomes of our Erasmus+ training course Flying Giraffes: How Nonviolent Communication Can Help Young People Spread Their Wings—a beautiful collection of visual notes (graphic recordings) created throughout the training by Ilaria Fresa from Nomadways (France).

Rather than simply documenting what happened during the training, these visual notes capture the essence of the learning journey. They illustrate the key concepts of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), the group process, practical activities, reflections, and the creative energy that emerged during the course.

Throughout the seven-day training, participants explored how emotional intelligence, empathy, and communication can be developed through movement, theatre, games, storytelling, and other experiential methods. At the same time, they co-created educational tools that can be adapted to different target groups and shared their own practices from everyday youth work.

With great sensitivity and creativity, Ilaria transformed these experiences into visual maps that make the learning accessible, memorable, and easy to revisit. Her illustrations reflect not only the content of the sessions but also the values at the heart of Nonviolent Communication—empathy, authenticity, connection, and respect.

We believe these visual notes are much more than documentation. They are an open educational resource that can inspire youth workers, educators, trainers, facilitators, teachers, and anyone interested in emotional education and Nonviolent Communication.

We warmly invite you to explore, download, and use the materials in your own educational and facilitation practice.
