Eramus+ Adult Education – Italy – Job Shadowing
In January 2026, we completed the first international mobility within the Embodied Emotional Education project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. Two educators from the Mudita Foundation – Angelika Mizińska and Sylwia Federico – took part in a job shadowing experience hosted by Leben Nuova in Italy.
The mobility offered an opportunity for experiential learning and observation of an international team that integrates education, body-based approaches, and emotional awareness in their work with groups.
The nervous system as a foundation for learning and regulation
During their stay, Angelika and Sylwia participated in a Body-Mind Centering® (BMC) module focused on the nervous system. The training was experiential in nature – participants examined different aspects of nervous system organization and explored how balance within the autonomic nervous system supports safety, presence, and readiness to learn.
From embodied experience to educational practice
The knowledge and experience gained translate into concrete educational competencies, enabling educators to:
- design safe and inclusive learning environments,
- support regulation, focus, and engagement,
- increase sensitivity to the needs of participants experiencing stress or overload,
- integrate movement and body-based practices in a conscious and consent-based way.
International cooperation and next steps
The job shadowing in Italy was an important element of international cooperation within the project and a significant step in strengthening the Mudita Foundation team’s competencies in embodied emotional education.
We return inspired, with deepened knowledge and motivation to integrate these approaches into our educational work with adults and young people.
In the coming months, we will share the outcomes of this mobility and the practices we have learned with a wider audience.
We sincerely thank Leben Nuova for their openness, professionalism, and for creating such a safe and supportive learning environment.
